Patients at the Children’s National Medical Center Benefit from Donation

Maryland (04-29-2011) – Thousands of children being treated at the Children's National Medical Center of Washington, DC will delight in the chance to play with a variety of animals and the Mid-Atlantic Scots4Tots (MAST) is proud to support this magical interaction.

The nonprofit organization presented a check for $500 to the New Horizons Cultural Arts Program, which will bring more than 10,000 animal visitations to the patients at the medical center this year. The program also brings art, music, dance and other culture exchanges to the children.

“This time with the animals and the arts allows brief moments of comfort and a chance to smile during challenging moments in their young lives,” said Mid-Atlantic Scots4Tots President David Close.

Mid-Atlantic Scots4Tots is proud to support the extraordinary work being accomplished by the New Horizons Cultural Arts Program. MAST appreciates how New Horizons helps children transcend the hospital experience by bringing the cultural arts, arts education and animal visitation to patients at bedside and in the Atrium, understanding that the activities encourage continued learning, promote wellness through self expression, and speed the healing process..
